Swedish Massage

A traditional massage using a system of relaxing strokes. It aims to improve circulation, soothe muscles and relax the entire body. Pressure varies depending on the client’s needs and specific areas will be given more focus as required.

Deep Tissue Massage

As the name suggests, works at a deeper level, relieving severe tension in the muscles. Using a variety of techniques with forearms and elbows, as well as hands and thumbs, adhesions in the muscles can be released. In addition it may help to reduce any inflammation and/or improve movement. This is a stronger massage technique; however, the treatment will incorporate traditional techniques to ensure maximum effect and will be tailored to the clients requests.

Pregnancy Massage

Using the same or similar techniques to Swedish massage. This massage focuses on areas prone to tension, discomfort and swelling during pregnancy. It can improve energy levels, reduce swelling and relieve aches and pains associated with pregnancy. Positioning is important during the treatment therefore additional support will be used to ensure comfort and safety of the client.

Note – Please ensure you have informed your midwife or GP prior to undertaking this treatment.

Elderly Massage

Using the same techniques as Swedish Massage, this massage focuses on treating specific conditions affecting older adults.  Positioning is important and depending on mobility, it may not be possible to use a massage table.  Therefore, the best approach is determined, whether that is sitting in a chair, or leaning over the table, using additional pillows and towels where appropriate.

Note – Any underlying health conditions will be discussed in the initial consultation, however you may wish to consult your GP prior to undertaking this treatment.
